Danish trader rejected your complaint: understand the reply
No repair, no refund or an unclear reply? Identify the trader’s reason and make the solution you are asking for clear.

What is the trader actually saying?
A rejection may concern the cause of a fault, missing information or the remedy you requested. Identify the reason actually stated. A request for a photo is not necessarily a final rejection. Put the purchase date, product, complaint and latest reply into a short timeline.
Start with the trader
The Danish consumer authority advises complaining to the seller first and keeping written evidence. Read Forbrug.dk: before you complain. Make your response specific: what is wrong, what have you reported and what solution do you want? Asking for a refund does not establish that you are entitled to one.
The official route is a separate step
The Danish public complaints system has eligibility rules, including product category and purchase value. Mediation comes first; a further step before the complaints board is not automatic. Check whether your dispute fits and what fees apply on the official overview.
A formal complaint normally uses the complaints portal. Its official FAQ says complaints must be in Danish; an English email alone is not a substitute. Also check the stated exception for people exempt from Digital Post. Read the portal and language instructions.
Make your reply easy to check
- Give the order reference and the date of the reply received.
- Describe only the fault you have actually observed.
- Refer to your earlier complaint and relevant photos or purchase record.
- Ask for a specific solution or a clear reason for refusal.
Do not share full bank details or identity documents when unnecessary. Check contact details independently before sending anything.
Example: a clear follow-up
Fictional example for replying to a trader after a refusal. Use facts and a requested solution that fit your situation. Not a formal filing with the Danish complaints board; check whether the trader accepts this language.

What help is available here?
Choose Denmark and the matching topic in the form. Limited official-source information supports a consumer complaint to a trader, only when the source check succeeds and the document fits this narrow scope. Otherwise the result is general guidance. No court defence, deadline calculation, eligibility determination or guaranteed outcome. Check the required reply language and official submission route yourself.
Use official services directly where appropriate; you do not need to buy Briefhelder to open the source below. We do not access your complaint account, contact the trader or submit anything on your behalf. Danish is not an available draft-reply language in Briefhelder.
